Privacy policy

FAQpage (“we”) provides a Shopify app at faqpage.app that lets merchants publish FAQ pages and place a category on a product page. This policy describes the information the app processes.

Information we collect

When a merchant installs FAQpage, we receive from Shopify:

• The shop domain
• An access token and the granted access scopes, used to call the Shopify Admin API for that shop
• The app subscription status and plan name, when the merchant chooses a paid plan

Merchants enter FAQ content in the app. We store:

• Category titles and question text
• Answers, which may include formatting, links, and image addresses
• Whether each category and question is shown on the storefront
• Appearance choices: template, colors, font size, and storefront language

The image picker reads the merchant’s Shopify Files and can upload a new image there. We store the resulting image address inside the answer. We do not keep a separate copy of the file.

FAQpage does not collect Shopify customer accounts, orders, payment details, or browsing data. FAQ text is written by the merchant. If a merchant types personal information into an answer, that text is stored as part of the FAQ content.

How we use information

We use this information to:

• Run the app inside Shopify admin
• Publish the merchant’s FAQs to the storefront through a shop metafield and the app proxy
• Apply the selected plan limits and Shopify billing status
• Respond to uninstall and data-deletion requests

We do not sell personal information. We do not use FAQ content to advertise to shoppers.

Where information is stored

Shop records, access tokens, and FAQ content are stored in our application database, hosted with the app at faqpage.app. Shopify keeps the published FAQ metafield, uploaded files, and billing records in the merchant’s Shopify account.

How long we keep it

We keep a shop’s data while the app is installed. When the app is uninstalled, or when Shopify sends a shop redaction request, we delete that shop’s record, access token, categories, and questions from our database. The merchant’s Shopify files and any theme content already saved in the theme are controlled by Shopify and the merchant.

Customer data requests

Shopify may send customer data request and customer redaction webhooks. FAQpage does not store Shopify customer records, so those requests do not return customer personal information from our database.

Sharing

We share shop and FAQ data with Shopify as required to provide the app, including Admin API calls, billing, and the storefront metafield. We use infrastructure providers to host the app and database. We share information if the law requires it.

Contact

Privacy questions and deletion requests can be sent with the form below. We use the name, email, and message only to reply. Merchants can also uninstall the app in Shopify admin, which deletes the shop’s FAQpage data from our database.
